24-year-old Greg Merson was born in Laurel, Maryland and moved to Toronto, Canada because of the banishment for US players on online poker clients. The young profi player was down to a few big blind on day 5 of the Main Event but was able to double up his stack a few times and to fight his way back in the tournament. Now he is one of the final nine players.
Greg Merson has the chance to become one of the biggest winners during this WSOP season. He was able to win a highly reputated event during this WSOP, event #57: No-Limit Hold’em / Six Handed with a buy-in of $10,000 against 473 other players. He earned $1,136,197 and his first bracelet. This victory was his fifth WSOP cash.

Greg will start at the final table with a stack of 28,725,000. He is third in chips and has a very good chance to reach an even higher pay-out as he got for his first place in event #57.
